The story is about a man and his black cat named Pluto that he loved. One day he became drunk and hurt his cat by cutting one of his cat eye out because he thought the cat didn’t like him. The man would eventually kill his cat by hanging the cat. A second cat would follow him back home the looked like Pluto but had a white patch on the cat. Due to anger and guilt his anger caused him to attempt to kill the second cat by an ax but his wife gets in the way and kills his wife. He hides his wife in the walls of the house but the police eventually find the dead body in the house.

The narrator is writing his story from jail and the events that he is writing takes place in an old house he had.

In my opinion, this is a story that exposes the life of a man, who surely develops a disorder in his adult life for not managing situations in his childhood, since he transfers all his fury and repressed anger to an innocent creature, as It was his first and second cat. Elsewhere, the lack of guilt and repentance in murdering his wife is evident, thus reinforcing the idea that this man suffered from some disorder that prevented him from correctly managing his emotions and acting with empathy and awareness in the face of the bad actions of he.
